Penker Kircherl What is this?
The Church of Penk was built before the twelfth century in the Lower Naabtal at Regensburg. The church quickly became known as the little church and a landmark of the region. Their appearance with the massive stone walls and loopholes in the tower is more like a castle than a church. This is due to the fact that it offered in hard times as a fortified church an important shelter for the population. As one of the oldest buildings in Bavaria, the Penker Kircherl to the 20th Century always changed and updated, otherwise it would no longer stand in his place.
The characteristics of Penker Kircherl
The special features of this church are in addition to its architectural features for the most part well-preserved works of art inside. It is home to witnesses from all centuries. These include a Gothic crucifix and a sacrament niche from the late Middle Ages, a poor box from the early Baroque, as well as an altar Rococo. The fortified church of Penk was built in Romanesque style between the years 1200 and 1250. Neubärental gets its own crib
This was of course the Christmas surprise with no one expected was: Just in time for Christmas Eve surprise Meindl August the Protestant congregation with a home-made nativity scene for the Church in Neubärental. As shown in the picture, there is a barn with many lovely details. In addition there was also a complete set of nativity figures. The Magi are on the Image is still on the edge, because the photo was taken on Christmas Day and the wise men from the East only just 06.01. have their grand entrance. On behalf of the parish a heartfelt thank you for this wonderful Christmas gift.
